Beyond the Monuments in Washington DC & Factories Schools, Prisons

Photo-documentaries on Social Class and Race in the United States

Michael Jacobson-Hardy is author of The Changing Landscape of Labor: American Workers and Workplaces (University of Massachusetts Press, 1996) and Behind the Razor Wire: Portrait of a Contemporary American Prison System (New York University Press, 1998). His photographs are included in many public and private collections, including the Smithsonian Institution, the Addison Gallery of American Art, the Yale University Art Gallery, and the Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University. His forthcoming book In the Spirit of Peace (Holmes & Meier Publishers, Inc.) will be published in the spring of 2004. The catalogue for Factories, Schools, Prisons is available in the AVT office, C200 College Hall.
